Police ID 23-Year-Old Fatally Struck By Truck In Hillside

Authorities have identified the 23-year-old Hillside man struck and killed by a truck on Tuesday, Jan. 10, authorities said.

Derek J. Scott was in the roadway in front of 11 Vine St. when he was struck around 10:45 a.m., HPD Chief Vincent Ricciardi said.

It wasn't immediately clear why he was in the street at the moment of the incident.
